A Brief History
Scott Kelly is only 21 years old and from Comber in Co.Down. He has had a meteoric rise to fame in motorsports and in 2006 became the youngest Irish Superbike rider to compete on the circuit, something that he can still claim! Scott has made the transition into the Superbike circuit with a great result in his first season last year by placing 2nd place in the Overall standings in the Welsh Superbike Championships against some of the country’s best British Superbike riders. Scott and his team now have their sights set firmly on the British Thundersport Championships which will take in such prestigious venues as Donnington and Brands Hatch, Scott has already competed at Silverstone.
Superbike is the most difficult of all the bikes to ride and for one so young, Scott has already displayed all the hallmarks of a champion, alongside his more experienced peers. All Scott needs now is backing, as one of the most expensive sports for an amateur, Scott has depended so far on parental support, however for this season he will have to take in no less than 10 trips to the mainland to compete in the British Circuit alone, however, this will be televised on Sky Television and already some local businesses are taking advantage of the exciting advertising on leathers and the bike that Scott can offer. As this is Scott’s inaugural season sponsors will have an opportunity to advertise their business or product for a very competitive price, and not only will this be featured on Television regularly but on all official photographs featured in newspapers, glossy mags etc. In February 2008 Scott signed up with AKR Promotions. |
